Epitalon is a four–amino-acid peptide developed in Russia in the 1980s.

Recommended 7–5 for the 503A bulks list in July 2026; HHS has not acted. The problem with the evidence is not that it is negative — it is that almost none of it has been independently reproduced.

Preclinical only

Almost all published data is from animal or laboratory work. No completed human efficacy trial has been published.

What it is

Epitalon is a four–amino-acid peptide developed in Russia in the 1980s and sold for longevity, sleep and telomere length. Whealth does not dispense it.

How it works

It is proposed to act on the pineal gland and to influence telomerase activity. The proposed mechanism is the selling point, and it has never been independently reproduced outside the group that proposed it.

What the evidence actually says

  1. 2001–02

    The original work

    A cluster of papers on senescent monkeys, retinitis pigmentosa and ageing — almost all from the same Russian group, in the same journal, in the same short window.

  2. 2025

    Modern review

    A recent overview describes it as highly bioactive with promising properties. Read what it is reviewing: the same body of work, not new trials.
